Pandanus furcatus (common name Pandan Atono) Roxb., also known as korr, pandan or Himalayan/Nepal screw pine (named for the screw-like arrangement of its leaves), is native to the Sikkim Himalaya of Northeast India, Bhutan and Nepal, Malaysia, Indonesia and West Africa, and occurs on moist and shady slopes of ravines between 300 and 1500 m.
Light: Pandan thrives in bright, indirect sunlight. It prefers partial shade and can tolerate some morning sun, but it should be protected from harsh, direct sunlight, especially during the hottest part of the day.
Watering: When it comes to watering, maintain a consistent routine to keep the soil evenly moist. Pandan appreciates consistent moisture but should not be overwatered. Water when the top inch of soil feels slightly dry to the touch, and ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogged roots.
Basic Care: Pandan is relatively low-maintenance. Prune it as needed to remove dead or yellowing leaves and maintain its attractive appearance. Additionally, provide well-draining soil and apply a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer during the growing season to promote healthy growth.
